When preparing for a production which includes sword-fighting or fencing sequences, there are three key factors:

Historical accuracy

I can provide background information on specific historial periods and produce a guide on the types of arms and fighting styles to employ.

Spectacle

I can design and choreograph duels, fights and battles which reflect historical accuracy and the vision of the director, balancing both realism and spectacle.

Safety

Any form of fencing where the face is uncovered carries a risk of accident. Proper training of actors and actresses and rigourous adherence to safety guidelines of this discipline removes risk. Only an experienced and trained professional is capable of fulfilling this role in a production.
